New Brain Scanning Technique Investigates Alzheimer's
(Source: University of Otago, Christchurch) - Researchers in New Zealand are using a new brain scanning technique (arterial spin labeling), which measures blood flow to different areas of the brain. The MRI scanner magnetically 'tags' the blood as it flows up through the neck. Alternative techniques require the use of radioactive chemicals and a PET scanner.
